History Part IV

Draytown Silvia (out of Glendale Sierra.) had five foals by Pendock Pilgrim and all but one (who has not been shown) have been champions inhand, in saddle and in harness.

In 1999

Glendale Tamarisk was Champion Adult at the South Island All Welsh Show, Glendale Honesty was best Welsh exhibit at her first outing, followed by Supreme Welsh exhibit at The Canterbury International Show and a few weeks later was Champion Welsh mare at the NZ Royal Show. She was reserve Champion Saddle pony at the All-Welsh Show 2000 (after only being broken in three months. Her full brother Glendale Hayfever was Champion Saddle Pony. Glendale Cedric continues to be very successful inhand as well as harness. His latest achievements being a gold medal at the NZ Masters games. Cedric won the NZ Welsh Pony and Cob Society Performance Competition in 2005.

Waimea Coed Celi arrived as a "fill in" whilst we looked for a replacement for Pilgrim. He arrived at the age of 18 having never been off his home property at New Plymouth. We liked him so much and his pedigree was such (38% Coed Coch Berwynfa bloodlines) that we bought him. His first three foal crops 1997, 1998 and 1999 were never beaten in the foal classes at the major shows.

These were Glendale Lemonade, Glendale Sizzle and Glendale Pizza. Glendale Sizzle has gone on and been Supreme Welsh Led exhibit at the Canterbury International Show. Her first foal by Glenmore Luke - Glendale Chilli won the foal futurity in 2007 at The Canterbury Breeders Show.

Glenmore Luke was chosen to replace Pendock Pilgrim. Luke is by Coed Coch Branas. Foaled in 1996 he won the Section B colt class at the Australian National Welsh Show as well as at the NSW Welsh Show prior to his arrival in New Zealand. His first foals are showing all the promise we could have hoped for.

Glendale Luke

Glendale Bubblegum winning Champion Pony Foal at the Canterbury All Breeds Foal Show in May 2000. The foal that was second to her in the Sec B Welsh foal class was also by Luke. A filly foal by Celi was third.
